Dr. Jennifer Bracey

Dr. Jennifer Bracey is a well-known and well-liked clinician-educator. Although she has prior teaching and front-line healthcare experience, a significant portion of her motivation is in working behind the scenes to advance health policies that could result in a better, more equitable healthcare system for all.

Her first degree in postsecondary education was a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the College of Charleston, which she received in 2002. She was then admitted to the Medical University of South Carolina, where she earned a doctor of medicine degree in 2006 and was initiated into the famous Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor organization.

Dr. Bracey enrolled in the Emory University School of Medicine's J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2006. Bracey's top preference was this Emory University program because of its connection to Grady Memorial Hospital. One of the nation's major safety-net hospitals, Grady is famous for offering significantly superior care to individuals who would not otherwise be able to do so, including the low-income, uninsured, and other vulnerable populations of the more excellent Atlanta metro area. Grady was the first facility within a hundred miles of the city to be verified as a Level 1 trauma center. Dr. Jennifer Bracey prioritized providing care and influencing improved policy when selecting Emory University as her residency match to help the many Georgians who require world-class healthcare but may not otherwise be able to afford or get it.
